Right now, Shetland + Pony is just a bit of a glimpse at weather, seasons, and nature in general, courtesy of Shetland (a Shetland Sheepdog) and Pony (a Shetland Pony). I live about as far from the native habitat of such beasties as a person can — though to me the Midwest feels about as far from everywhere as a person can be. So why Shetland and Pony? Frankly, shelties and Shetland ponies are the fluffiest representatives of their respective species, and fluffy = adorable.
They both also happen to start with “Shetland,” which of course I needed to point out to you. For me, this is enough for me to say “well, this obviously merits weekly drawings and a blog dedicated entirely to them.” This may turn out to be more of a study in me learning how to draw Shetland Sheepdogs and ponies (somewhere around the neck and ears I always find myself stopping and wondering how on earth everything holds together and where all that fur/hair is supposed to go), but we’ll just have to see.
